The Facilitator Role: What does it involve?

You may be wondering: in a mentorship between a mentor and mentee, where do you, as a Mentorship Facilitator fit in?

You play a key role in making a mentorship a successful one! You help secure meaningful mentorship matches for the individuals you support based on their interests and aspirations. You also support the mentee and mentor prepare for the mentorship to make it an inclusive experience for all.

What's more—MentorAbility Mentorship Facilitators work alongside Hub Coordinators to engage and connect with employers, service providers, and other community partners. These activities deepen community networks and foster employment inclusion. There are also various opportunities to participate in events, such as career fairs and Disability Employment Awareness Month (DEAM) to build your network.

In addition to the resources provided in this portal, the provincial and territorial Hub Coordinators are here to support you in all activities!

Hub Coordinator Supports

Hub Coordinators represent their respective Hubs. They engage in, as well as support Mentorship Facilitators in, building a network of employers and employment professionals who will engage in the initiative. They organize and host learning and networking events and share stories of the MentorAbility initiative through social media. 

You can reach out to your Hub Coordinator to explore resources and opportunities to get involved with the initiative. They can also support you to access the MentorAbility National database to identify potential mentors.

Training Course: Preparing to be a Mentorship Facilitator
